So you’re thinking golf simulator.
You hit the internet—aannnddd yikes! Options, opinions. Everyone’s the best. Everyone’s an expert.

Not doing the full unpack here, but let’s dig into the 3 ways that matter: DIY, expert help, turnkey kits.
Here’s how to pick, from what we’ve learned with Neighborhood National Club Pros.

DIY: Do It Yourself

You build it. You:

  • Save money — find your own deals
  • Make some mistakes — learn through experience
  • Say you did it — your experience, your win

Good if:

  • You’ve got the time for the hunt
  • You enjoy the hunt as much as the result

Not me—just never been my jam. You neither? Keep going.

Expert Help: Pay Someone

Get a pro to do it all. You:

  • Don’t waste time — done fast
  • Avoid missteps — done right
  • Pay more than DIY — you’re paying for time

But this market’s loud. Not every expert’s the same.
Knowing sims and installing sims are two different things.
Vet accordingly.

Turnkey Kits: Easy Way

One box, all there. Kits:

  • Easy — open, assemble, use
  • No guessing — what you see is what you get
  • Breaks? One call

Downsides:

  • Some items over-built — PC, projector might be more than you need
  • Some items under-built — screen, enclosure might be less than you hope

If you want it now and simple, it’s a solid place to start.

Your Time’s the Thing

DIY’s cheap.
Experts save hours.
Kits keep it easy.
All work — our Club Pros have done ’em all.

What matters? How much you care about your time.

  • Got hours, like projects? → DIY
  • Want it right? → Experts
  • Just want now? → Kits

We Started with a Kit

At Neighborhood National, we’ve done it every way —
DIY builds, pro installs, and where I started 3 years ago.

At the time, I didn’t know a thing about sims.
Wanted NN to get going, so I went with fast — Foresight Sim-In-A-Box.

Their best launch monitor. Full turnkey deal.
Cost a bit, but it’s the Quad. Got me started, and I learned a ton.

Would I do it the same if I had to do it over?
Nah — know more now. Just took three years to get here.

If you’ve jumped into the deep end and want help sorting it out, hit me up.
I’m always happy to help — whether or not you're interested in The National.
