Transparency Always: What We're Really Building At Neighborhood National

We don’t make money at The National.
If we’re super successful, we probably won’t for a while.

We’re not selling stuff with a big markup.
We’re not a marketplace skimming off the top of every transaction.

Nothing wrong with either of those — but we’re building something different.
Something bigger.

We’re trying to solve real problems in golf.
Lack of access. High costs. Long drives (in a car). And long waits (on the course).

As we solve for them, we creating real value — for everyone involved.

A new kind of golf club

The biggest private club in the world that anyone can be part of —
since it’s close to home and doesn’t break the bank.

And when we build it right, that value will get shared.
With our Members. Our Club Pros. And yes, us too.

I’m sharing this because it’s a different kind of model.
And sometimes, different can be hard to understand.

The short version?

We’re not trying to make money today.
We’re trying to make value. A lot of it.

With 32.9 million people playing off-course golf — and that number growing faster than traditional play — there’s a huge opportunity.

When we do create that value, we’ll split it in a way that’s fair and sustainable.
Members first. Then Club Pros. Then us.

That’s the order.
That’s the culture.
That’s the club.

And so far, it’s working.

We’ve got traction. We’ve got proof.

We get folks in the door — and they stay. Retention is strong.
We’ve got 10 clubs open. 11th on the way. Almost 200 members.

Now we’re laying the tracks.

The infrastructure behind the whole thing.
Our own kind of railroad.

No one made money from the tracks. They made it from what ran on them.
Same with Amazon in e-commerce. Same with Peloton in content + community.

Build the backbone. Serve the people. Create something that lasts.
The money shows up later — and it’s better when it does.

We’re building a national network of clubs

An interconnected system of people, places, and play.
That’s the real infrastructure.

Sure, it starts off looking like a marketplace.
But we’re not in it to extract from either side.
We’re not built to max out bookings or skim a percentage from every round.

Our model is different — on purpose.

We work with low-cost or no-cost spaces.
We partner only with people who get what we’re about.
We don’t take a huge cut.

And the economics work — because we don’t need them to work for us first.

That’s how we offer unlimited, convenient access for around $70/month.
That’s how our Club Pros get paid to host awesome golf hangouts in their garage or warehouse —
without stressing about hourly bookings.

And that’s why we can grow in a way no one else in this space can.

It works because of the order of things:

Members first.
Then Club Pros.
Then us.

That’s the foundation.
That’s the culture.
That’s the club.

I’m not sharing this to over-explain it.
Or to make myself sound like some kind of genius.
Honestly — it’s not that complicated.

I’m sharing it because the community we’re building is the real secret.
That’s the key to the big value. The big payoff.

And communities are built on trust.

So this is me being transparent.

So those who are curious can understand what we’re doing,
how we’re doing it,
and why we’re doing it the way we do.

Transparency always.

We’re building our own kind of Peloton.
Just for golf.
