What’s Changed Since Starting Neighborhood National

When we started Neighborhood National, the mission was simple:

Make swinging a golf club actually accessible.
More convenient. More affordable. For more people.

That hasn’t changed.
It’s still our foundation.
But how we do it—and what I’ve learned—has changed a lot.

The Original Vision

When we launched NN, I imagined we’d appeal most to serious golfers — people grinding on their game, wanting more reps, and willing to pay a premium for regular access to a badass simulator just minutes from home.

And that part has played out in some ways.

But what’s been even more powerful — and honestly, more fun — is how much broader and more impactful this has become.

💡 The Big Shift

In the beginning, I pitched NN to potential club pros as a simulator that could pay for itself. The focus was on ROI: “You’ll make your money back. You’ll offset the cost.”

That pitch attracted attention — but it also ran into friction.
People were worried about:

  • Strangers coming into their home
  • Risk and liability
  • Whether this was “worth it” just for the money

And honestly? That pitch missed the point.

What I didn’t fully realize yet — but learned quickly — was that no one signing up is really a stranger.

They’re golfers.
They live in the neighborhood.
They’re already part of your community and part of our community.

They’re kind, laid-back neighbors—the folks you’d want in your club.

The Power of Member Feedback

It was early member feedback that helped reframe everything.

They weren’t just looking for more swings. They were craving something else — a connection to the game and to others who love it too. A place that felt like a club without feeling exclusive or expensive. A vibe.

That insight changed how we thought about everything.

What Actually Works

The club pros who’ve been most successful — and who love this the most — aren’t the ones chasing a quick ROI. They’re the ones who genuinely care about building something cool nearby for people like them.

They care about community more than profit.
They’re proud of the space they’ve created.
They’re happy to welcome people in.

And funny enough — because of that mindset — the financials still work. Sometimes better than expected. But it all starts with the right intent.

🌱 Where We Are Now

So yes, Neighborhood National is still about accessibility — through convenience and affordability.
But more than that, it’s about creating something that feels like a real club.

  • Where members feel valued
  • Where people connect
  • Where culture grows naturally

And the secret?
We put members first.
When we do that, they start to put the club first, too.

That’s the magic.
